I was one of those people trying to get out of the class. My thought process was.."Come on, I am a parent already, have come from a family with many adopted children, have a degree in child psy., my husband works with children from all backgrounds...do I really need to do this class??"

Boy was I surprised. I learned so much in that class. It scared the living daylights out of me, but we kept going back. I really feel that everyone should attend the class. I know for us, it would have been a huge mistake for us not to. Not to mention, a disservice to the newly adopted child.

I liked the classes - however, I think they focused too too much on the negative. I know they have to prepare you - but their is alot of positive too - and by the end I was ready to run - I really needed to hear some positive.
