I meet with my cw this week to go over my homestudy. The closer I get to being licensed the less patient I get! It has only been a few months since I started the foster to adopt process, but this is something that I have wanted for a LONG time!

School is out so there is no work to keep me busy and that makes the waiting even more unbearable. I have been knitting like crazy to keep my hands busy.

I feel your pain. I started the process last march, I went into with the sole intention of adoption only. completed the classes in May, in June found out my dh had an affair, with a lady we met through the adoption classes (nice place to meet someone huh) I didn't tell the CW just yet, we tried to work it out, in sept. I found out he was still talking to her and kicked him to the curb. The very next day after all those months the cw finally called and said homestudy was complete. of course, I put it on hold. got my divorce and change my mind, decided I really want a younger child and that I should foster for a while. they had to redo my home study for adotion without my now ex husband. That took about 3 months. for a month it was just sitting on someones desk approved and ready to go. every time I would call once every 2 weeks, they alway said, give it time. Finally got that part done, they handed my approved home study over to the foster care dept 2 weeks ago tomorrow. They had already told me that they have 3 working days from the time they rec it to have it to a caseworker and contact me. So far it's been 10 working days, I have called 4 times and noone has called me back. I know this will be drug out a long time but it's really crazy. All the over crowding and children waiting for a home and they can't seem to even call back. crazy! I had even recieved a call about a 2 1/2 year old that is available for adoption 2 weeks ago, I have called them back 3-4 times now, they still don't have any more information.
Just venting as well, does this ever get better??
for now, I am just working on paying off a few things, that way I don't have to worry once I have a little one. More money to spoil them with but I don't know how much longer I can handle the agony! it's like they want to see how much you will put up with.
I have collected so much stuff already. I have stopped for now because I hate to look at all the stuff, while I'm not recieving any phone calls.

Wow, not hearing back about the 2 1/2 year old must be very difficult. I am lucky in that I seem to have a good relationship with my new cw and being a small branch of a large agency might be an advantage. One can hope, right?
