First Homestudy Done!

That was a piece of cake! Our caseworker was only here about 15-20 minutes. Our final one is a week from Tuesday. We have to have the room setup by then.....which has me a little panicked. She did ask us to be more specific on some of our questions that we answered in our packet. My husband bless his heart had a hard time with it. He talks fine with me but sometimes has a hard time talking with someone he barley knows especially about personal stuff.

Congratulations on making it through the first h.s. visit. That one seems to be the hardest for most people because you are talking to a complete stranger (in most cases) about very personal things. I find, from reading the posts, that men seem to have the harder time with it. Could be that many times the certifier is a woman.

Good luck on your second visit on Tuesday.

Congratulations, we just finished our homestudy and were approved on 4-29-08. Ours was pretty easy also.

Update: More Hoops to Jump Threw

My husband was diagnosed with bi-polar a couple of years ago when he was at a all time low. He was on meds until last year. He hasn't been on any medication since last year spring and is doing fine. So, now he has to go to a shrink to get sign off that he is okay to parent. At first I was a little frustrated when the case worker called me but now i am okay with it. they are just doing their jobs and covering all there bases.

If hubby has been off all meds for a year it makes me wonder if he was diagnosed properly. It sounds, to me, more like depression than bi-polar. JMO

Thanks for the replies. It has made me wonder if he was misdiagnosed too and I have that on the list of questions he needs to ask the doctor.
