i have not slept in 3 days. Today is the day the DH and I are being presented to the agency to see if we will be accepted to the agency.
the cw is supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know. I am on such pins and needles. i am replaying our entire interview over and over again... I can tell this will be an exiety filled process....

what if they deny us?? i will be so heartbroken. can I apply with a different agency?
this is so hard!!!

UGH 445 and no phone call. Guess i shoudl give up for the day, but i might send an email( she gave me her email addy)

Is that tacky. I mean i dont want to be pushy, but this is a HUGE deal to us... shoudl igive her until noon tomorrow??
Her words after our last meeting last week were, i will be out of the office all day on wednesday, so i will get back to you thursday or friday....

I just cant take this... LOL I no dramatic, but i want this sooooo bad!!!!!!!

If she said Thursday or Friday, then she meant Friday.......or maybe next week. HeeHee. This is something you will have to get used to out of SW. I would give her til after lunch Friday and then call. If you do send an email, attach a request for read receipt so that you will know when she opens it. They tend to bother more with a reply if they know that you know they have seen it. Good Luck!

well,m the agency called 5 min AFTER i left for girl scouts.
Now i am worried. it was not our cw that called, but someone from the intake commitee, that wanted to " give us some information after they had their meeting this week"

My Dh is camping for the weekend with Boy Scouts, and he is unreachable, and now i am freaking out!!

Why didnt they call my cell phone, I know they have that number!

i called her back, even though it was 7 pm on a friday night, but i wanted to make sure she had my phone number,since i am across town all day on monday.

So the wait continues, and i am analyzing the phone call. I have listened to it 4 times in the last half hour LOL and i have no one to talk with this about...

I don't really know what that means, could be you were chosen, or could mean that someone else was. Could also be that they chose someone else for this child(ren), but would like to consider you for another child(ren) and want to know if you are interested.

I know the waiting is really hard, but that is part of this process. It is called 'hurry up and wait'.

yeah i just dont know. We are still just waiting to hear if we are accepted to start the training process. I am replaying our interview and reading the copies of the application i sent in, to see what could stand out to them, that would make us unfit as faster parents. Though, i guess if we were denied, at least i would know now, verses months into the program, only to find out something in the home study meant we could not be foster parents...
Obviously i have way too much time to think...
I am going to take the kids and the dogs and go for a nature walk to look at the sky...

You had to get presented to the agency to see if they wanted you? I have never heard of this before. I think if you did not have anything bad in your past then they should not deny you. I know for you Monday will not come soon enough. Good luck and here are some hugs to get you through the weekend.

I was shocked too that i had to bed presented in front of an intake comittee to see if we are what they are looking for. I was very honest in my application, have never been convicted of a crime, never even had a driving ticket. LOL

I have not had any sleep, since dh is out of town and i never sleep well when he is gone, so i have been thinkng about this all night. If they deny us, we will look into private adoption first( international) and then maybe try again for foster care later..

well, i am still waiting for a return call, from the call i put in on friday night, and then again yesterday at about pm. i have been jumping every time the phone rings LOL..
If i dont hear from them by tomorrow lunch time, i am going to call another number i have for the case worker that did our intake interview. She is not the one that was calling me, but she did say to call her if i have any questions.

Or if i get too impatient, i will email her tonight, and tell her that i have put in 2 return phone calls, from the call i recieved on friday to XXXXXXX and i havent heard back, and can she please help me, since i am very eager to hear what is next...

Sorry, I started another thread.
First we were accepted, we had a new CW, ( thrid in a month) and she came out to the house, gave us a ton of paperwork, walked thru the house, set up MAPP classes, then a week later dropped us. No reason, just "they decided not to accept our application for service"
So we are done, hopefully will be adopting in a year or two. Totally bummed, wondering why, but not getting answers.
