Home Study 6 Hours?

I was told by our MAPP trainer that Home Study can take up to 6 hours. I can't imagine what they do that takes that long! lol How long did your home study take?

Oh yes, it can take that long and longer. Our first visit was 8 hrs. The 2nd was 2 hrs. The 3rd was maybe an hour.

We had 2 home study visits. 1st one was about 2 hrs and the 2nd one was about 1 hr. Maybe they are saying in total and not at once? They usually come out more then once.

Mine took

about 9 hours, but the worker told me that she expected it to take about 3....we just got to talking so much that it took much longer LOL!

A lot of the time is simply that they are taking notes, and will frequently go back to clarify, etc. I'd rather it take longer - means they are being accurate! (I hope!)

I had 2 homesudy visits, the first one was only like 45 mins. the second was like 20-25 mins....but I already had EVERYTHING prepared before the first visit (fires extinguisher, smoke detector etc)...and I am single and at the time had no kids, so she didn't have to interview anyone but me....

The second visit was just a formality because she had to come 2x...

I think our 1st visit was 2 hrs because she made the appointment at 6pm and I invited her for dinner. And then we got to talking and she was so easy to talk to and we had such a great time we all lost track of time.

My first visit was about 2.5 hours and my second was 1 hour 45 minutes. I have to meet with her one more time but she said that'll be quick...maybe 30 minutes. Yesterday she said she had everything she needed to know but it's required that we meet 3 times so that's pretty much why.

I would 9 hours over a few session could be possible depending on how many people live in the household. I think they have to talk to everyone that lives there so if you have a spouse and one or two kids it could take a while.

They've been with me for over a year! Can't believe we made it.

Previous Placements:

Orientation until License took 3 months and 18 days Could have been quicker had I been more diligent with my homework and my references a bit quicker!

It must just depend on the state and who is doing it. Our recruiter only came out once and was here for about an hour.
