So.. will I need a new homestudy?
My husband and I are considering doing foster parenting.. We are in the process to adopt our first baby from Guatemala - Chances are, she won't be home until May. We are not looking to adopt, just foster. I suppose if we had the chance it would be a consideration. Anyway.. We already have a valid home study with our social worker, will we need to get a new one with a new social worker?

Yes, you'll need a valid homestudy done through the state, although they may be willing to work off of the one you already have.
Additionally, you will need to take a certain number of classes - each state has its own requirements. In my state, its 32 hours of classes. Becoming licensed can take anywhere from a month to six months depending on the agency and state you're working with. Your medicals and fingerprints might transfer, provided they are what the state normally requests. Good luck!
