Cradle Care

Does anyone do cradle care? Where would I go to learn more info? (I'm debating between fost/adopt and cradle care)

Thanks!

I've heard of it, but don't know much about it - I think it is usually care for a young infant while the birth parent is deciding what to do next - such as choosing an adoptive family? It's intended to be temporary - someone hoping to adopt the infant would not be considered a cradle care provider. Sorry I don't know what next steps to take - hopefully someone will be able to give you more info, as I know I've heard it mentioned on this site (maybe search teh archives?)

I am a former cradle care mom. I did it for 13 yrs at an adoption agency.

Not many agencies do it so I'd suggest calling several in your area and see if they have a cradle care program.

I loved cradling but my location was an hour away from the agency and the past few years I was just not busy enough. So this summer we switched to fostering for our county - and we are plenty busy .

We had to have just as much training as foster parents do - so your journey to become a cradle care parent is pretty much the same as becoming a foster parent.
