We are new to foster parenting, we took all the classes did the homestudy, visits etc..We did this all last summer and never got a call until the end of Jan for our first foster child. He stayed until the first of this month, they said we would get called right away and they are so in need we would have to learn to say no but they don't call?! Is it because we are new and they like to call people they know? I think the only reason this social worker called was because he was new and didn't know anyone else to call. How can we get known so that they will call us? I am right near the social service office and I am a stay at home mom and that is what they said they really needed but so far, they never call! Any advice on what to do, or do I just try to be patient and continue to sit and wait? Thanks!!

i just got certified myself, and they have already started to call. The best advise i have gotten is to call about once a week and just check in and say hi and see if there are any new kids or events coming up, etc.
