This is my first time visiting this site! I have been trying to find others with the same interests as myself and my husband.

We have just applied for our Ohio foster care license!! We have been told that we should be licensed before the middle of November!! My husband and I together have 5 children of our own (he has 3 boys and myself, 2 girls) we are so excited to raise a child or children together!! If anyone has a related story that would help or inspire us, please feel free to send us an email! We are hoping that this leads to an adoption. Isn't it so exciting. I am in the same stage that you are in right now. I have attended the info meeting and have sent a basic application in about a week ago and now I am just waiting for someone to contact me. I am expecting to have a placement by February, if all goes well. Me and boyfriend have decided to accept 2 children from newborn up to 11. We do not have any children of our own although we have lots of experience with all ages of children. We are 23 and 25 so I wonder if there will be a bias due to our ages. I hope not. Well I wish you luck in this process and I hope you will keep updates on how things are going and I will do the same.

Hi, My husband and I just became licensed two weeks ago. We live in Minnesota and have 3 bios. This is an exciting time as we wait for our call for first placement. The process felt like forever but, was well worth it. Good luck and keep us posted on your process.

Yay, I've found some people at the same stage as us! Our application has been processed, I'm attending the 2 day course this month. I had a fright yesterday when dh got scared and said he didn't want to do it anymore, then off he went to work on night shift and came home this morning to retract his statements and encourage us to continue. He'd had a good talk with a work mate who has fostered. Whew! We have three bio kids and want to take newborn to 18 mths. Our youngest is 2 1/2, so we want to keep the natural order of things, and we are also hoping for an adoption or two.
