My husband and I are in the process of becoming foster parents in Virginia. We finished our classes in November and we had our last homestudy on Thursday. Now we just have to sit back and wait. Does anyone now how long the wait to found out if you are approved will be? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi Rhonda,
I live in Fredericksburg. We had our first class on Oct.26, 2003 and our last on Nov. 1, 2003. The classes added up to 20 hours. The application doesn't take that long to fill out, but writing the bio took me a lot longer. It's hard for me to write about myself. Have you started your application yet? I would love to chat with you also.

Hi Kim,
yes we received our application the second meeting.Our classes are 8 weeks long,every Wed from 7-9:30.I filled out my section,it was quite difficult also,as I had a rough childhood.My husband hasn't filled out his yet.
Do you have any bio children?We have 4.What ages are you looking to foster?I want a girl age 2-8.I wanted babies at first but I think it would be too hard for me right now.Plus everyone wants the babies.
