court ordered homestudy ques

Well we got our approval on the homestudy alone for our kinship foster care. And the judge signed a court order approving to have the the homestudy done a.s.a.p. does this mean that we will get a quick homestudy like a walk through?? the social worker said the children have to be moved by sat the 1st of nov.. so my concern is the social worker wants to move them here to my house and we are both looking for someone to do a speedy homestudy.. she is in another county actually 6 hours from me.. so i have been calling some social workers by my house asking this question.. otherwise the kids go to foster care home until i can get my classes done. but we're doing the homestudy first since there is now a court order for it so we can move the girls this weekend.. anybody have clues as to what a quick and speedy homestudy would entail?? the children's social worker stated that sometimes a social worker can just do a walk through.. what will they look at?? I have 3 dogs will this be a problem?? they are all up to date on shots.. what else will i need to have done??? thanks in advance

I had my homestudy before classes in order to quickly move a child in. You'll need to show them the children's room(s) and make sure all medicines, cleaning products, knives, etc...are inaccessable. When I did the home study these things needed to be locked up but that isn't the case any more for CA anymore. Just put them up out of reach. Make sure your yard is you have one is free of debris and fenced and pick up all the dog doo. With mine they didn't even look at all the rooms or the second bathroom although they did on the one-year visit. Who knows? As long as your home is safe you won't have a problem.
