Do you know??

I have been thinking alot about adoption, also fostering.
I have checked out a website for Fla,DCFS
Husband & I will have to wait to become foster parents.
I would love to go ahead and take classes, all. I wasn't thinking about it, but husband isn't old enough to foster yet, I am but he isn't. I have been reading on this site about adoptions, it doesn't give an age on adoption. Would it be the same as fostering?
Or would it be different, being we are married, also he is in the Navy. I have my heart set on this one little baby girl, well I would love to adopt her. She has a like growth, maybe a tumor or something on her face. It's right at her nose, between her poor little eyes. I have a strong feeling our insurance would pain to have that removed. It has to effect her sight, causing her eyes to cross.
Anyways sry for blabbing, but I would love to know if the ages are the same. If so its okay we will wait, would just hate to wait much longer. But well worth it!

Thank you...

Honestly, your best bet is to call your state office and ask a real person. You never know when they're going to be willing to bend a rule if you don't ask. How old is your DH? Classes and licensing DO take a while.
Where did you see the little girl you've set your heart on? It's a hard thing, but the child you go into this for isn't likely to be the child you come out of it with- personal experience. Think of her as a little angel of inspiration, who gives you something to fight towards.
Good luck,

Star

Yes, I have spoke with some people in DCFS of florida, we are going to be going ot the oreintation in Dec, then classes in Jan 2003, Husband will be old enough by then.. And we will be able to go from there. Rather then wait til he is older then take classes, he is 20 going on 26 lol.
This baby is Michaela she is an infant, her picture is on FDCFS: Florida Department of children family & services. Under adoption, she I know & hope will be adoptied to a loving home before we have our chance but.... Gives me alot to look forward too

once again thank you
