Imperfect Methodist Mom and Dad
Dave and I are looking for a child under five years old, perferably a girl. We are not perfect and are not looking for the perfect child, just perfect for us. We can handle moderate special needs because our other adopted son has a few of those himself. We don't want to overwhelm ourselves.
We do not want to pay money for a child because we believe that this will encourage the "sale" of children. We do not want anyone to think we are looking down on others that do. We just do not want to be part of the money aspect. We feel that there is a child for us that is of no cost to us. We are tempted to get an infant at a price, but this is not what we feel we should do. We are not perfect people. We believe in the Methodist motto of "Open hearts, open minds and open doors" We work with the baskeball program at the church and have our son in soccer. They told us he would never be able to play sports. Yeah right! We both work but, as a teacher, I get home after school. Our attendance in church is not perfect but we have a lot of faith in GOD and what his path is for us. We are in our 30's, love animals, education, sports (not so much me), settled and very crazy (silly). We believe in knowing where your kids are and not being their friend but being their parent. Taking the heat for being the bad guy with their friends instead of them. We believe in love and giving that love to others in the community through our actions. Our son says," I like living with them because they are good parents. They help me learn and I have a good teacher. Moma bought me a puppy. And I have dogs that love me, too. I play with my dogs. I would like a new sister. I will help her learn to get dressed and I will play with her and Daddy will fix her a chest of drawers and play with her too." Ok, he is only eight Thank you for taking time to read this and write us if you have a child in mind for us.
