I gave birth sometime ago. I have not been to this thread in quite some time. I want to add though how very sorry I am about those that decided to reply and attack the way I choose to serve God. Obviously I was dealing with trying to find adoptive parents. This for me was not a great site personally to support my choice.

I would encourage any birth Mom to stand strong on her desires for an adoptive family.

I am perosnally not at all bothered by the statements made they had no effect on me whatsoever however for another birthmom they may have..

I was offered no support but told my religion was culitsh it was compared with David Koresh and Jim Jones. People responsbible for many tragic and horrifying events in our history.

In the future I would encourage anyone dealing with adoption to be supportive of the birthmom instead of attacking her personally. You don't have to like her religion but don't stand so judgemental about it. Or certain qualities she is looking for in AP's without being asked why or questioned and given grief about it..

This was NOT a thread about my relgion or a place to say how you felt it was cultish but an adoption forum. I just wanted you to remember that in the future.

Peace to you and yours...

Mom to Four Angels---
I hadn't posted on this thread in a while....but I wanted to say I totally agree with you. I think it really depends on the church you are attending....I in no way feel our church is like a "cult". It is the most loving, unconditional place that I feel totally accepted into....wearing pants or not!
It is more about the fundamental truths presented in the bible. I know everyone has their own opininions and experiences. I just wanted to put in my two cents.
I attend the church to worship and serve.....without thought of "getting" anything in return. And the blessings God has given my family over the years, including the strength to endure the adoption journey......has been amazing.
God bless.

i was raised in a fundamental baptist home and i totally rebelled as a teen
i was responding to that
i didnt like wearing "culottes"and its funny that now i will wear them
but as a teen i didnt like it

if you ever need to talk im here ok

A "cult" in your opinion is being too strict...meaning not wearing pants? Hmmmm.
