naming an adopted child

She called one day with the name Katelyn. I told her I liked it and would run it by my husband. The thing is: unknowingly to our bmom, our third choice was Katie. My husband and I both felt it was the right name. I asked the bmom if it would be allright to officially name her Katelyn but call her Katie. So then it was decided. Our bgrandma picked out her middle name with our approval-Hope. So Katelyn Hope it was meant to be. She is now 2 1/2 years old and I have no regrets with using the birth family's suggestions and I look forward to telling Katie in the years to come how she received her name.
