Smile how about these?

Hi, I didn't know that we could get advice on names here! How fun! Well we hope to be referred a newborn from Haiti in a few months, and many of the babies if abandoned don't have names or the hospital names them... we might keep the name he or she is given, but we'd like to have some choices of our own too... so what do you think...

Boy- Kaiden Micah (or spell it Kaden or Kadin?)
Jamison Micah
Benjamin Micah

Girl- Maisy Ella
Brennan Taylor (or spell it Brenin Tailor)
Stella Mae

Feel free to voice your thoughts! Thanks

I like Stella for a girl; out of the boy names, I like Micah the best... I would use it for a first name, though . Micah Jamison, maybe...

I tend to go for the classic and traditional spelling so

I like both Jamison and Benjamin.

Maisy Ella for the girl.

I think Brennan sound kind of masculine for a girl and I had never heard of the name Kaden until there was someone on the forums with a son of that name--I have to tell you I thought it was a girls' name. Maybe because it reminds me of Kalen and Kaitlin -- both girls names.

Thanks for your advice! I wish some of the other 90 that looked could help too We still don't know what to name our baby that we will meet in November! How about if I mention some names that are more "normal"?

Boys-
Connor
Ethan
Mason
Tyler

Girls-
Molly
Juliet
Claira

We saw a picture of a baby boy at the orphanage we are visiting, he is available and his name is Mark... if he's the one, what do you think of Mark? Mark Tyler maybe??? Oh, we'll see...

Hi Tarynbrook,
I really like the name Kaden for a boy, I too heard it for the first time on this forum. I think it is really cute. But I like the other boy names you picked too. I have to think of one for a girl and Molly is on our list so I think I like that one the best on your girl list, although Maisy is pretty cute. I'm trying to push for Carly at my house but my husband isn't very fond of that name.

Good Luck,
Julie

Thanks Julie,
I hope your husband warms up to the name Carly, I think it is a really cute name! It goes in the Molly group (which my husband isn't too fond of either). I'm glad that I found some one else that likes Kaden. We really do too, but might go with something a bit more common. Thanks for your reply Taryn

Smile methinks...

Hi Taryn,

Didnt get to name my son as such as he came in with a name already. Had a choice for his second name and DH decided that only his own name was good enough. So opted for Marc - spelt differently from DH's name ~ Mark.

A lotta Marks in my life... and I love all of them....

I also thought of:

Boy: Matt, Nathan, Joshua, David

Girl: Mikayla, Danielle, Ana

Had some more names but cannot remember where I put them.

Incidentally DH is Mark Allan...if that helps. I like Kaden and/or Stella from your list.

In the end I guess you have to go with what your DH thinks is okay, this is one of those things where you kinda have to agree...

Methinks, when you see the baby flashlights will go off and the right name will come to you - like I saw this little angel and I knew if I were to bring her home, her name would be Anokhi (meaning unusual) and DH liked that name too.

Anyhow, now I'm rambling again so good luck...

Best wishes,

Karen

From your first list of names, I like...

Benjamin

A suggestion for Brennan, I too feel it sounds masculine, how about dropping the last N? Brenna

From your second list, I like...

Connor, Ethan, and Mason - we also have Ethan on our "list"
We also like Matthew for it's meaning.

Molly - also on our list, great meaning too!

For girls, I LOVE the name Jenna, but my husband doesn't, I keep sneaking it on the list and he just laughs! Right now we aren't set on any, I may suggest once we're matched with a birthmom, that we'll show her our favorites and ask for her thoughts ( if she is comfortable with that ), in the mean time, I keep working on Jenna, LOL!

Good luck and best wishes!

Hugs,
Deb

Like your names

I really like the name Kayden for a boy > in that spelling too.

I agree with the person that said Brennan was too masculine for a girl, but maybe Brenna??

You don't want a very common name, especially if that baby is coming from Haiti.

Smile thanks & an update

Hi everyone! Well, our Haitian adoption is taking a bit longer than we had thought, and we still don't know who our baby is We did hear that a baby girl just came to the orphanage, so maybe she is the one! We will see! The only problem is we have a boys name picked (Kaden Micah), and still can't decide on a girls ... so I came here for more help ... it is funny, because we got a huge sign with the boys name. We had Kaden on our list and it was really our first choice and then when we began to question it my husband met a darling little 2 yr old African American boy at his store. He said the little boy grabbed on to his leg and wouldn't let go, then his mother started calling him "Kaden". He was so excited to call me and share the story, and that is how we decided on that. OK sorry to go on and on, back to the girls names! We still haven't ruled out all of the first names on our list up there, but many mixed feelings about them led us to look for more...

1) Malia - Hawaiian for calm and peaceful and I saw a darling Haitian girl with that name but I'm not sure if it is pronounced the way I am saying it, Ma (like Madonna) and lia just like Leah...??? Husband and grandparents like Malia too, which is a plus

2) Maile - vine that grows in Hawaii. Pronounced like Maylee???

3) Ashlyn

Any advice and help is appreciated! This is so hard for some reason, maybe when we see her face or her birthname we will know! Thanks everyone, Taryn

I love Jamison for a boy and Ella is cute for a girl.I also agree that Brynn or Brenna would be more suitable for a girl. All of the Brennan's I know are boys.Good luck.It took us forever to finally decide on a name.

Cute

Ashlyn is cute too. I still think Brenna is adorable. So my picks are Ashlyn and Brenna so far... If you have any other ideas, I'd be glad to try to give my opinion.

I think the names you have picked out are great. Our little girls name is Claire Adeline. I am a fan of names that are not the "normal". Ya know Tiffany, Jennifer, Melissa. I think that Brenna Adeline would be a beautiful name for a little girl. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi Taryn,
I like the name Malia, it sounds really pretty. We have a friend that just named their little girl Micah (me-kah) and I know that was a name that you liked for a boy, but it is really cute on her. It is funny how hard it is to come up with the "right" name, but you will know it when you find the one.

Good luck,
Julie
