Twin Girls Names: Too much?

McKayla Hope and McKenzie Joy....too much, or cute?
I know the names are rising in popularity just love how they go together with the middle names too. What do you guys think?

I am the mom of twins and I have twin sisters. I love the middle names but think the first names are too similar. No offense, I hope.... you asked???

How about Mckenzie and Madison or Mckenzie and Morgan?

I have to agree with Bumpkin. I love both of those names, but twins need their own identity. My hubby is a twin and has this huge thing against being all matchy, matchy. And his twin is a sister!

A Joyful Name

My sister is Melissa Joy. Still keeps the M without the potential for Mac and Mac

When I was a kid the standard spelling was Michaela -- it's less matchy and more mature than McKayla.

Freinds of mine have a pair of twins, they came up with a unique solution for naming. Mom named one and Dad named the other. They both got to give their favorite name and they didn't get too cute. Jasmine and Alison will be two soon.

I have 2 sets of friends who are both identical twins. Their parents named them differently and they are both very grateful to their parents for that. They had to endure being called "the twins" (which both sets HATED!) instead of their names or even just "the girls" or "the children". They wanted separate identities because they were two different people with different personalities.

That being said, my own opinion on naming children is that you must think about the child as a 22-year old graduating from college and entering the business world. Would their name be a asset or a hinderance to their career? Will they be taken seriously or have to introduce themselves with a too-cute name and be embarrassed? In addition, spelling is another problem Will they forever need to spell their name to someone? My niece will forever have to spell J-A-Z-M-I-N, instead of Jasmine. Things to think about.

I opted for names that are normal, but not over-used. Again, my personal opinion.

I agree with petersmom. Keep in mind that after they are cute little girls, they will then grow into women who would probably be embarrased by their cutsie names. I also think that names are such an important part of our identity (when you are very young) that having such similar names would be more of a burden.
just my 2cents.

I have three year old twin boys. When we found out they were twins my husband and I decided to each pick out a name, we just agreed on a letter of the alphabet.
We now have Morgan and Mason. Both are completely different names for two completely different boys but at the same time go together with the M's. People try to match names with seperate births, not only twins.
I love the names you have picked out. They are two different names but still go together.

In our family we have fraternal twins: Melvin and Melvina Jean. Their brothers and sisters "fixed" the situation- and she has long been known as "Jitter."

I'm mom to identical twin girls. We deliberately chose very different names for them, so they don't sound "twinsie" at all. I like the names you've chosen, but they do sound a bit too cutesy, in my opinion.

I think they are too simular. Pick one, and just stick with an M name, nothing too simuler, it sounds like your trying too hard. And then it's even easier to confise them. What about these 'M" names-
Maeve
Madeline/Madelyn
Madison
Maegan/Meighan/Meygan
Maisey
Maya/Myah
Mia
Morgan
Mariah
Molly
Just a Suggestion and my personal preference! Good Luck!

I think they are cute, but are popular now. I like Kayla and Kenzie as well or better, unless you are set on M names.

In my opinion, (humble as it is, you asked for it) it's just a TAD too much.
Personally it's the double Mac that does it.
Mackenzie is a gorgeous name, boy or girl, as is Mackayla, but they're too similar. Naming kids names with same starting letters is one thing, but they'll become known as the two macs if their names are TOO similar. Even worse, if they're bigger/smaller than their peers they may become known as the Big/little macs.
In my opinion, say no.
Hope and Joy are beautiful names though, stick with them for definite.
Hope I helped, not hindered.
