Smile changing my adoptive daughter's middle name.

my 11 year old adoptive daughter wants to change her middle name along with her last name, we need a little help.
she has red hair, she's very bubbley, energetic, smart, tipical kid, and she has survived a horrible childhood. her bio-mom was diagnosed with munchausing bi proxy syndrome, which is where the parent causes the child to become very ill to gain sympothy or attention from doctors. to make the long story short, she is a survivor. her first name suits her well, her name is Ariel.
we love her name, it is full of strength and boldnes, wich sums her up pretty good.
please help us figure out a middle name for her, our time to do this is very near............. thanks

Have you asked Ariel what she would like for a middle name?

That is just too sweet! Are they any family names that would go nicely with Ariel? A grandmother, perhaps? That would give her a sense of family, of belonging.

That is so sweet that she would say that. It brought a tear to my eyes! My oldest daughter's middle name is Ariel and she is 11 also. I had originally thought about her first name being Ariel, but had such a hard time finding a middle name to go with it. So, I named her Caitlin Ariel instead. The only two names I just thought about for your Ariel were:
Ariel Rose
Ariel Pearl
I know they are kind of old fashioned, but I thought they were kind of pretty.

family names for Ariel

i have tried putting family names with Ariel and we really cant find one that goes good with it. my middle name is Beth and my husband thinks that Ariel Beth is good, but where its my name i really don't know if it sounds good, if that makes any sence.
thank you, jenny

Ariel Elizabeth sounds nice. That way you are giving her a part of your name. I gave each of my daughters a part of my name; the "lin" in Caitlin and the "lain" in Alaina.

I'm back...
I've searched and came up with these names. None of them are old fashioned or common. Most of them are "sea" names:

Ariel Tasina (Guam meaning her sea)
Ariel Kailani (Hawaiian meaning sea and sky)
Ariel Cyren (Greek mythical sea nymph)
Ariel Rayne or Raine
Ariel Marissa (of the sea)
Ariel Clarissa (brilliant)
Ariel Clairice
