Grr

Okay I have come up with some names that alot of people do NOT like, and I mentioned Hannah back in October, and what do you know, my older sister steals the name from me. Grr!! But the names I have chosen I love but would like some recommendations or some input again.

Boys:
Caden Taylor (I hear that Caden is really popular but I do not know anyone who has named their child this nor have I heard the name around either)
Cody Austin
Kieran Taylor (Love the name but wondering if it is too close to Karen and if he'd be picked on)

Girls:
Kailianna Mae (Unique, beautiful and can be Kaili for short)
Alyssa Paige (I think Alyssa is becoming very popular but I think it is still a pretty name)

I have had trouble coming up with girls names that my other half likes. Any pretty, unique names that anyone can come up with?? He likes all the above names so that would help you figure out our style.

I like these names and thought of using Taylor if my second child had been a boy---However I have run into so many girls named Taylor I regret not using it for my daughter....

Alyssa--there are four of them in my daughters kindergarten class and two more at her pre-school so i think it is becomeing VERY popular.

I once dated a guy named Curran and I loved his name.

Kailianna I like this one my actual name is De Anna and I got sick of people calling me DE so dropped it and go by Anna. I don't like the short name of 'Mae' with it for some reason it just fells anti-climatic after such a rainbow first name.....

Good luck i didn't have a name for my daughter until the nurse was standing over me ready to bat me over the head to finish the BC--We picked TORI because we heard it on some b-rate Lifetime type movie and loved the sound of it....

Kieran is one of my favorite names!

But, I'm not married, so my son has my maiden (only) last name. My sister is Karen. Although she is married with a different last name, I still live in the same town I grew up in and the same teachers will probably teach my son. Actually some of my classmates are teachers here too. I didn't want him being asked contstantly if he was my sister's child. So out went Kieran. For now. Maybe next time.

I like Caden too. But it was the little girl's name in the hospital in the movie Shallow Hal. So I thought of girl when hearing it, instead of girl. Sorry.

I was a little stuck on girls names too. I guess that is why I received a son.

Although, I really like Kara and Kyra (or Kira) for a girl. And Clare.

I stuck Mae with Kailianna b/c the only grandparent I ever knew was Maybelle and I wanted her to be remembered in some way. I think I'm going to stick with Kailianna Mae for my first girl. I liked Kiera for a girl, but my cats name is Kara, so that would have brought that out, which made me come up with Kieran for a boy. I think since Caden is becoming so very popular, Im going to take that out. Alyssa is too popular as well, so out goes that.... So now I'm down to 2 boy names : Kieran and Cody and 1 girl name : Kailianna...

Boy, I really need help with some more names. LOL

When naming children I think you should try to remember that they will not always be cute little toddlers and their name should grow with them. I think this is even more important for boys who will some day be grown men.

Just a thought.

I LOVE the name Caden and was considering it myself. I also like Caleb, Kobe, Kale, Ty, and Noah. For girls, I love the name Maya but it does not go with my last name at all and I'm so upset about that. Maya is my favorite girls name. Then there is also Madison, Jada, Jalen, Kennedy, and Ariana. I'm a teacher and have seen a rise in trendy names but traditional names still rule the classroom for now. I have a cute boy in my class names Nico which I think is adorable too!
Good luck!

I always think of boys when I hear Kieran. It reminds me of Kieran Culkin (the actor) and I have a professor with the first name Kieran (he's from Ireland).

haha

Some of yall are coming up with names that I've already tried with my other half or my cats names... LOL

Cats are Jada, Kara and Bailey

I LOVE the name Skylar but no such luck with hubby. Haleigh (Haley) is my neice. Love Caleb as well but again no such luck with hubby.

With Alyssa becoming so popular, I think I'm going to stay away from it. I like Ariana, but not sure if it is too close to Kailianna. Despite what others may think I love the name Kailianna and think that will be my first girls name. As far as people mis-spelling it, theres stupid people out there that can't even spell my name (Heather), besides, she'll probably go by Kaili for short.

The last name is Chapman, so many first names that end in the letter N dont go well w/ Chapman.. such as Madison and Austin (thought I love both those names - which is why I chose them as middle names).

Its starting to sound like Keiran is becoming a Unisex names these days, along with Taylor and Madison (which are also Unisex)

Names

Our youngest son, 3 next week, is Caden Alexander (other 3 boys picked the middle name).

We thought we had made it up ... as a cross between Aiden and Cade (both of which we liked) HOWEVER ... we have come across a couple of them since, but none with that spelling. (other spellings we know of Cayden, Kayden, Caeden, Keighden, Kaydan)

I dont think it is necessarily Caden that is so popular but similiar sounding names are all the rage right now ... Jayden, Cailan, Braeden, etc...

I LOVE the name Caden (although our family hated it) and he suits it to a tee ... he does however, for whatever reason, get called CayCay ALOT by us

I thought DH and I would never come up with a name. Fortunately we knew early on that Cayla Cheyanne was going to be a girl so we didn't "fight" over boys names too much. I liked Cody but I wanted it for our little girl - Codee Rose. DH liked it at first and then changed his mind. My step-son is named Kade, and I love that name! His brother is named Cole, and I love that name too. I also like Tyla for a girl. I too think boys should have a good strong name and would avoid unisex names for a boy (because of teasing).

Trynitey - I agree with Happymomanna about the name "Mae taking away from such a beautiful, feminine name as Kailianna. Have you thought about using "Belle" as a middle name instead? It still shows that you are honoring your grandmother, but with a more modern sounding name. Kailianna Belle Chapman ? And for your second daughter, here are a couple more of my favorites......Cassidy, Amelia, Marina, Peyton, Lindsay, and Gabrielle.

As far as boy names, I always liked Ethan. My son was actually going to be named that, but the more we looked at his picture, the more we realized that he was an Aidan instead. Kieran sounds sort of feminine to me, and Cody just seems like it would be hard to outgrow as a man. I like boys names which end in something other than the "eee" sound. Cole, Curran, Taylor, Mason, etc are some that I think sound good.... masculine names that leave no ambiguity as to the gender of the child, and are easy to grow into as an adult.

I think I have major issues with naming children and must really go overboard---my boys full names are:

Sean Thomas Nickum 'last name"
Jeremiah Andrew Maritn "last name"

and my daughters are:

Victoria (TORI) Aileen
Makala (Kala) Maureen

I like the name Kaillianna Maybelle too actually!

I am De Anna Louise and always loved the way it rolled off my tounge!

Agree with BethanyB

The name I've chosen for my daughter is Maya Grace. Unfortunately, Maya is rocketing up the popularity charts, but I can't let it go! The middle name may change, as we are adopting from China and will wait to find out her Chinese name and incorporate it into her middle name.

Also, my nephew is named Nico (pronuounced Neeko), short for Nicolas. It's a great name!
