thanks!
Thanks for your help and advice! We still aren't sure, but maybe we could just have a few in mind and when we see her little face we will know. If I think of any more names I will come here for help, you guys are great
![]() oh and I did find out that Maile which I thought was pronounced Maylee is really pronounced Mylee in Hawaiian... so we might cross that one off our list This is so hard for me for some reason! But still fun... ~ Taryn |

So we think we have a daughter afterall!!! We are just waiting to hear that she is as healthy as she looks and she will officially become ours
She was born on July 20th, 2003 but I think she might be older than 7.5 months?! Her birthname is Tabita... we are thinking of calling her Tabitha Ashlyn (just have to add the h to make it American). Here are her pictures... we just love her! |

She's just adorable!
Whatever you name her. I can understand just Americanizing her name, but when I was reading through the thread I have to say that I LOVE the name Malia (not sure I am spelling it correctly).
How long 'til you bring baby home? Will it be safe with the recent violence there (I'm sure you probably want to get her out of there as soon as possible). D. |

Hi!
Hi D,
Thanks for your post. We still love the name Malia too, but I think she is already a Tabitha now. Maybe she will have a little sister some day The situation in Haiti is very unstable and we do want her out ASAP. We have to be patient as things are on hold for adoptions right now. I have contacted everyone from the President to local news and we are getting signs that things will improve, but we don't know when. We were on the news talking about it just last week. I'll update everyone when we find out more. Take care.Taryn |

Hi there, I know that you posted a while ago, but saw your post while browsing and thought I would respond. Your names are very close to the names that I like, but here is some thoughts: You like Kayden for a boy, how about for a girl? Or maybe Kadence or Kaydence for a girl (very popular where I am from) I LOVE the name Maile, and in fact we have picked the name Malley for a girl when we adopt and if we have a chance to change her name. I have two girls all ready, Maddison Paige and Mackinley Lois, so Malley would fit just perfect, and we also have a boy Turner Ross. Another "M" name that I LOVE is a girl that is in my daughter's kindergarden class. Her name is Mairi (pronounced Mar-ah) She is adorable! Anyway, best of luck with names and adoptions.

I LOVE Kaden for a boy, I tried to get hubby to agree to it but he refuses so we've settled on Lucas. On your girl list I really like Claira and Molly!
Best of luck on the name hunt! Let us know what you decide! |

She looks like a Tabitha Ashlyn, its not a name I would pull out of thin air, but how it fits your child matters as much as how much you like it. A good name does both.

How being a TCK relates to my desire to adopt some day: I grew up an international child, and while the walls between country and race mean less to me than most, I grew up with an understanding of the influence of clashing cultures that is hard to explain to someone who exists in solely one culture. God has given me the gift of experiences to fuel my desire for international adoption and to understand an internationally adopted child's world. |

I love our daughter's name-Kiera Lynne. Kiera means small, dark and beautiful in Gaelic and Lynne is her birthmother's middle name. Kiera is multi-ethnic; German, Irish,African American, Puerto Rican, and Native American.

We did hear that a baby girl just came to the orphanage, so maybe she is the one! We will see! The only problem is we have a boys name picked (Kaden Micah), and still can't decide on a girls ... so I came here for more help ... it is funny, because we got a huge sign with the boys name. We had Kaden on our list and it was really our first choice and then when we began to question it my husband met a darling little 2 yr old African American boy at his store. He said the little boy grabbed on to his leg and wouldn't let go, then his mother started calling him "Kaden". He was so excited to call me and share the story, and that is how we decided on that. OK sorry to go on and on, back to the girls names! We still haven't ruled out all of the first names on our list up there, but many mixed feelings about them led us to look for more...
