Thumbs down Bad Name Choices

My mother wanted to name her children the following....

Luke
Greg
Jessica
Peg

unfortunately, the last name was Clegg

As if I wasn't teased enough, imagine being named Peg Clegg...I almost was!

Also, I have actually met .....

Dusty Rhodes
Birdie May Hatch
Nelladet (after her father...backwards)
Bob Smallwood
Aileen Marsh (nicknamed Alien Martian)

Anybody else ....?

Thumbs down

Try growing up in Appalachia...

*Candy Apples
*E. Harmon (on official paperwork that's "Harmon, E." Say it out loud.)
*Chanda Leer (And her brother King)
*Female Smith (mom saw "female" on the BC and thought the hospital had named her child for her... at least it's pronounced to rhyme with "tamale")
*A girl named "Miss" (the parents hadn't named her when they came home from the hospital, so the daycare workers called her "Miss Jones", which the parents decided was a fine name.)
*Patricia I. Green (look at the initials)
*A football player named Doug Izzy (on his football jersey was "D.Izzy"--dizzy)

*And finally an unfortunate foreign spelling... Luzabet (Teachers pronounced it "Lizabeth", kids pronounced it "loose-a-bet")

Gosh, I know there were more but I can't remember them...

unfortunately, I came across a group of kids in high school ... they were all siblings and had the last name "Butts."

Senior in high school: Heavenly Butts
Sophomore sister: Arena Butts

I don't need to tell you they either quickly married or changed their names at the courthouse upon graduating.

OK, here is the worst I have ever heard! A little girl was born in the hospital and the mother heard the doctors talking about delivering the placenta and decided to name her daughter Placenta.

I wonder if her nickname was "afterbirth"?

Names ...

In our community we know a Very LARGE (thankfully for him) man named Robin Hood.

My Grandma had freinds whose last name was Steu (pronounced Stew) They had a son .,.. Beife (pronounced Beef)

My best friend taught a family who named their children

Repent Or Burn (he went by Rob unless his parents were around) and was arrested as a teenager for throwing rocks down an overpass ** probably not the sort of witness his parents intended**

His siblings names were something like Sing Praises to God, Salvation is Yours TOTALLY WACKY ...

My mom in law named her kids Shannon, Shane, Shirlene and Shelby ... logic being that in church she could just say "SHHHHHHHH" and all would listen

Family Names

Growing up I knew a family whose names were John, Donna (mom and Dad), John (son), Don (son) and Donna (daughter). I never called b/c it was too much of a pain in the rear.
I also know triplets whose names are Lacy, Tracey and Stacey -- the rhyming thing bugged big time (their last name rhymed too, which made it even more annoying)

Oh, and I actually know a Dusty Rhodes and a Bud Rose (or as teachers always said Rose, Bud)

The worst names I have ever heard:

I went to school with a Snow White

A set of siblings with the last name Baer first names Teddy and Cinnamon

Another Cinnamon with the middle name Ann and last name coffee (Cinnamon Ann Coffee)

Seashell Angeledus and her brother Bumpus McThumpus Angeledus

Those are the really bad ones I can think of right now, but there were more

re: Names

There was a Texas governor in the late 1800's by the last name of Hogg. His daughter's name was Ima. This is absolutely true, you can look it up on the internet. LOL, Sharon
