Ohmygoodness - so funny. The worst that I know of - they are foreign names that don't translate well into English. I know a guy named: Ballrash, and his sister is: Balldip.

One of my junior high teachers named his son Winter Lee Raines. He just thought it would be funny if he had a lisp. I went to college with a girl named Crystal Blue and also worked with a Kelly Green. As for bizarre, my ex-husband wanted to name a boy after his father - Ellsworth. I also remember a Stormy and Rainy as kids in my Sunday School class. Oh, and a lady named Fanalisa. She admitted that her mom made that one up. One more, my dad was having some tests run for some intestinal bleeding and one of the tests happened to be a colonoscopy, of course. He had been drugged when the doctor came in a introduced himself as Dr. Butts. Now, since dad was drugged up, he could not keep himself from laughing.

My best friend in grade school was

Crystal Clear

and my son swears he will name his son ZOLTRON Jr.

Yikes!!!!

My dad is Glenn Glendenning (and he is not stuttering)

This all reminds me of a Saturday night Live skit done a few years back:
Scean--man and pregnant wife discussing names.
Wife, made suggestion after suggestion of a first name--every one of them the husband chanted back with some name the kid's would call them..
Peter-Peter pumkin eater
Richard--D*** and what a P****
John, how is the toilet--I got to use the John!
Mike--Mike cant ride a bike....

on and on until the doorbell rang and the Pizza delievery man asked,
"Are you Mr. A**wipe?"
Then the man screamed it's Aswipe (As-Y-Pay)
I still crack up about that show.....

Actually echaos - the IWK is short for "Isaac Walter Killam" Health Centre.

Our son got a bad deal in the name department as well.... lol

His initials spell EARS.... we didn't realize until AFTER we filled out the forms for his birth certificate.... oops

I went to school with guys named

Mike Hunt
David Davidson
Andy Anderson

Went to school with a girl named Shiloh (silo with a shh at the beginning), and a girl named Aunya (on-ya).

When we were looking to adopt my Oma and Opa's foster daughter (they didn't want to adopt - too old), I seriously thought about naming her (she was only a wee babe) Aunah Paige..... say it out loud... I dare ya..... "On a page"..... Adam nixed that REAL quick!!! LOL

I love this thread - it's hilarious!!!!

Also, a friend of my brother's actually named her children Kandy and Caine.... so mean.... lol

Oh, and my uncle's name is George Edward Burpee - and he CHOSE to go by Burpee (burp-eeee). We called him "Uncle Burp" when we were little...

OH and my inlaws almost called my husband

Adam Scott S*********

until they looked at the initials.

Evan got burned because we thought he was a girl and we had NO boys' names picked out for him, so Evan Adam Royce just kind of took a name we liked, my dh and my dad.....

Yeah, and WTH kind of name is ROYCE!?!?!?!? lol My dad goes by John, thank goodness....

Meg

I used to work with kids professionally and three of the stranger names I met:

Sir (boy)
Precious (girl)
Special (girl)

Those last two are well-intentioned but I imagine recess was gonna get hard. And Sir, strangely, that really fit him.

There was a boy in high school whose name was 7 (not seven, mind you -- 7). We also had a Butts family; Becky was in my grade but her older sister, Sandy, was in my sister's.

When I was in kindergarten I knew a family named Jerry (dad), Geri (mom) and Jerry (son). They had a daughter and named her Jenny.

Finally, my childhood pediatricians were named Dr. Doody and Dr. Wadwa.

Gotta new one ...

... as luck would have it, while my husband and I were in the labour and delivery room with our daughter's birthmother, waiting for the contractions to start, the Maury show was on television. On it, there was a little beautiful girl who was unfortunately saddled with the name ...

... wait for it ...

JENNA ROSITY.

Now that's just WRONG.

I went to high school with Charles Schultz, I have a cousin named Stephen Stephens, and in grade school there were sisters named Faith, Hope, and Charity (all nice names - just not together).

Matt's (DH) Mom's plan was to have 4 boys and name them Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.....instead she got, Matthew, Elizabeth and Douglas
