It took me awhile to figure it out but I think because their nicknames would be Jack and Jill What would make those names even better would be if their last name were Hill.

what a marooon!

OK folks - it took me awhile, but I have a viable defense here. I am from the South and Jackson is a family name and if someone in our family is named Jackson, then they're name is Jackson - not Jack. The Jack and Jill thing didn't click in until a couple of hours later! Bear with me, I'll catch up eventually!

Bad name choices

I'm not from this forum but I had to add this one in because its so funny. I went to high school with a girl named Bo Peep. Totally serious, this was the name on her BC. (Her sisters were named Mary Contrary Peep and Jaclyn Jill Peep). Every one would pass her in the halls and bleat *BAaaa* I just got the invitation to my 20th reunion and Bo is organizing it. She signed with her hyphenated maiden and now married name of Bo Peep-Shepard.

hehe

Ya, it was the Jack and Jill thing...

...the thing is....she named them Jackson and Jillian just so she could call them Jack and Jill....

Sometimes I wonder how parents can be so cruel.

When I named my son...I gave him a first name, and two middle names to choose from...I grew up with one name, and no options...I HATE my name..

Jerrett will have a lot of choices...Jerrett Hayden Bradock...

Funny Names

This thread is so funny!

I know a girl named Jubilee, thank goodness she is a happy go-lucky type of person!

I knew of someone named Mary Snow White and she went by Snow.

I know of twins named Purl and Burl and Fay and Ray (same family, 2 sets of twins!)

I also know a girls whose married name is Kelly Kelly and another one whose married name is Florence Florence. There is also a Dr. in the area named Dr. David David, and he is a second, named after his father!

I also knew of a disciplinary officer in college whose name was Richard Justice, but he went by Di**.

I heard this name from an old Ann Landers column. I man wrote in wanting to name his child Mason. His last name was Dixon.
Mu husband will jokingly say we should name a son Austin. Our child's name would be Austin Austin.

This thread is hysterical

After reading 4 pages of this thread my eyes are tearing and my stomach hurts. I felt the need to add my bad name story!

A few months ago I was shopping with my boys. There was a little girl running around like a nut. Her mother kept calling out for her "Levi come here, Levi come here. Until finally she screamed "Levi Jean get over here now!"

I stopped short in my tracks when I heard that one!!

Also know a Kelly Green, a dentist Dr. Pickens and believe it or not a bably boy named ****head pronounced Sa' Theed. I feel sorry for him!

You never know what's going on in some parrents minds.

Ask a question, why would someone name their child Peter Eder?
Although I don't know this particular Eder, my sister went to school with another of the same name.
Eder the e, as a vowel is long.
So you see, parents pull some REALLY crazy stuff when naming their kids.
Pronunciation of Eder

Hear the proper pronunciation

Poor guys

I think one of the worst I ever heard was 'Iva Weiner'. Dear me. 'Mike Hunt' is bad too. My husband's favourite name's are Autumn (not THAT bad, but no where near a favourite) and Hope, so Autumn Hope was on the agenda but I refused!
