re: Names

There was a Texas governor in the late 1800's by the last name of Hogg. His daughter's name was Ima. This is absolutely true, you can look it up on the internet. LOL, Sharon

more names - All True!

When I worked at the hospital we had a patient named
Hysterectomy Jones

There is a podiatrist in town named
Dr. Smelsy

There is a funeral home in town called Spiller and Spitler

Let's not forget the local ear nose and throat guy - ready?
Dr. Lip$h!tz

IMO, the worst names are those with invented spellings. Tyffanie. Khrystyl. Abbygaile. EmmaLeigh. DeChauncey. I know parents give those names to make their child *different*. Your name has nothing to do with making you different, it is how you live and the choices you make that set you apart. Besides, having to constantly spell out or clarify your first name is a big pain in the tail!

about that texas governer. The last name Hogg is actually pronounced like Ho ho ho. I know a guy who has the same last name and people call him Boss, like Boss Hog from Dukes of Hazard.

Karebear - that reminds me of my Texas history. Governor Hogg had a daughter named Ima. Yes, that's right, Ima Hogg. Her brothers were more fortunate and had traditional names. It was always a joke that if the family had one more girl would she be named Ura?

And for all you NASCAR fans what was D**k Trickle's parents thinking?

Cowoker of mine jt told us of a friend of the family who named their daughter:

Crystal Chanda Leer

(similar to a previous reply, but with more effort at making a mockery of a name)

More Names..

My city is proud to have had a Mayor by the name of Harry Baals. They named a street after him, but for some strange reason, the street sign kept coming up missing!

Also knew a Dusty Knuckles.

My former married name was Sam Hills ("What in the Sam Hill's going on? or some other irritating line!)

Our last name is Wigger so that is bad enough, but when I was pg w/our daughter my husband thru out the Ima, and the Ura and then for a middle name he thought of Freakin. Now that's bad when its you that has the name and your husband is playin off of it. We have told our daughter this story she is 7 and she thinks its the funniest thing in the world ! Oh and this one my mother taught a 3rd grade class back in the 60's and she had a little girl in her class her name was pronounced fem-all-ee. Spelled female. I wonder what would have happend if she was a he, maybe pronounced Mol-ee spelled Male?

Love
Ima Freakin Wigger's mom

Talking

My sister has a friend named Jenny Beach...oh yeah...her full name is Virginia Beach (probably where she was conceived).

I had a friend once who knew a poor girl named Formica Table. Can you imagine??

And I knew a guy growing up named Robert Roberts...what is the matter with people?
