Requires:


1. Equivalent to two (2) years of college level course work in social work, a behavior science or a field related to the work AND;

2. Two (2) years of full-time, professional experience in providing information about, and interviewing and determining eligibility for, social service programs such as adoption and foster care.

3. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, a behavior science or a field related to the work.


THE POSITION: Develops recruitment and outreach efforts in high priority neighborhoods through literature distribution, community fairs, and collaboration with local churches and other non-profits; facilitates “match parties” within the Southern Nevada community in collaboration with the Clark County Foster Care and Adoptions Recruiter; develops a targeted recruitment plan to attract potentially adoptive families for hard to place children including: African American, 12 years and older, and those identified as having special needs.Interviews clients for potential referral; reviews case notes and files and determines appropriate courses of; provides outreach to the community or client base to which assigned; creates and maintains case files; maintains accurate documentation regarding all information received and actions taken; maintains accurate logs and compiles records of work performed. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. May make home visits to obtain and verify case information; prepares case notes of such home visits. Enters client information into an automated database system. Uses standard office equipment in the course of the work; may drive a personal or County motor vehicle to make home visits.
