Sensory issue vs. "normal" toddler
Hi
Our daughter can't have 1 drop of water on her face.. She literally freaks out..she never was like this before what happened in Dec. 04 (vaccine rxn)..I have to put a towel over her forehead/eyes and she still cries and cries..she won't lay down on her back in the tub either..so I can't rinse her hair that way.. Also..she used to not mind wearing PJ's to bed..after her reaction..again..she cries and screams and tries to pull off the pajama's..she wants her socks off all the time..even in the dead of winter..she doesn't want to be covered with a blanket..so all night long I try to cover her up and she kicks it off..then her legs are ice cold etc..this goes on all night.. She spits out food if it isn't exactly the right texture..no oatmeal, no cold cereal either..nothing mushy..hates applesauce etc..again..she never did these things before.. I used to rub her back before she fell asleep..after last year she hates to have her back touched.. It seems to me she is having sensory issues?

Some think sensory problems could be caused by vacinations...
The best book on the subject is "the out of syn child" by Carol Kranowitz. It may give you a handle on what to do.

{{{Cathy}}} Have you had her evaluated? I guess she'll soon be too old for the Birth to Three/Early Intervention. It doesn't sound like normal toddler issues to me, at least not compared to my toddler. Xiomara does not like water on her face but she doesn't react intensely, she may start fussing but as soon as I dry her face, she's okay.
Did anyone in the physicians office validate what happened? What has their response been after the fact. Just wondering if you have any legal recourse...
