I'm searching for my birth mum, Doreen Besic (maiden or married name?). I was born in Mersey Women's division in (Davenport?) Tasmania on 21-4-1972. Doreen was 28 and her husband John was 40. John and Doreen were seperated, and John died before I was born.
I am told Doreen suffered from Epilepsy and was not capable of caring for me adequately, and that she spent some time in Oakley Hospital (??) in Auckland before (I assume) returning to Australia.
Doreen bought me to New Zealand when I was about 10 months old and I was placed in foster care via Karitane in Auckland. For whatever reason, I have not heard from Doreen since then, hence my foster parents applied to the courts to adopt me when I was five. As Doreen could not be located, the adoption was processed accordingly, I can only hope this is what she had wished for me.
