Chris,
My 7 year old son is totally blind with CP. The doctors thought he would be a vegetable, but he taught himself how to walk when he was 6. He's great. He doesn't speak but he understands everything and comunicates in his own way. We have 16 children with special needs. They are all doing great. We adopted through the state (which is horrible). Call different agencies and tell them what you are interested in and that you would love to take a child no one else wants. Most agencies love to hear that. You may be open to more than just blind after you get started. Let me know what happens. My e-mail address is g housefull@aol.com Bev.
