Dr. Phil does RAD on today's show

Here is the description of that segment:
"There Are Days That I Hate Her"
Robyn adopted 10-year-old Alyssa from the Ukraine and says she actually has thoughts of sending her back. She says her daughter screams and cries, and even threatened to kill herself! Robyn’s husband, Joe, can’t imagine living without his adoptive daughter.

Sounds like a set up to massacre mom for ratings. Doubt Dr. phil will have a clue about being a mom to a rad kid. Poor woman, even dad hasn't got a clue yet.

The transcript is online. He actually seems fairly sympathetic and understanding of what all the families are going through.

I just finished watching the show and I wanted to crawl through the tv screen and give the rad mom a hug. I hope she knows that she is not alone and there are many others right there with her.

I read the transcript

also and I kind of thought he was attacking the mom with the RAD kid and letting the parents of the child with Downs off easy.....

the RAD mom needs to change

but the parent of the child with a medical condition, which IMO from the transcript, could get a lot better with good quality parent training, in home care for child, etc... is being told to place the child in RTC (it did say for a short while)

and I am soo happy I read the transcript before letting my son watch the show (we have him watch Phil from time to time anytime a topic might come up that might be applicable to his life) because I don't think hearing that RAD mom is at fault is anything he needs to hear at all...

from the transcript it did seem that the RAD mom was being blamed for the entire situation...

I wanted to slap the clueless, unsupportive dad.

I went through that with our family. Our daughter would terrorize the entire family and do everything she could to cause problems. At the same time, she'd be keeping an eye out for Dad to get home from work, at which point she instantly became all sweetness and light and went running to him to complain that everyone was picking on her and she didn't understand why. Anything the rest of us said, he just couldn't imagine it being as bad as we all said it was. He didn't see her bad side until I finally got through to him she was manipulating him, at which point she falsely accused him of abuse, thereby finding a new way to make our lives hell.
