How long would you expect to stay home with a toddler?

Hey everyone,

I plan on adopting one or two children, three or four years old. Since I get one year mat leave (yay Canada!) I've been planning to take the whole year off work. Do you think that's likely to be enough to achieve a healthy level of attachment (assuming they don't have RAD or other serious problems), or should I plan on staying home longer?

Thanks!

Someone else may have a wonderful answer, but from what I have learned in adoption, each case is unique. Just was with a birth you never know until you get into it all and get together with your kids.
Good luck.
