Friday Fun: Dogs or Cats

So, are you a dog person or a cat person....or BOTH?

For me, it's dogs. I have 2 and would love more, but if I get another a kid has to go...hmmm

I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a bunch of fish.

I'm a cat person for sure...even though I'm highly allergic to them

I'm a dog person. I like cats, but since I'm so allergic, I've never really bonded.

However, I've almost always had a dog in my life. My 13 year old bassett shepherd is such a huge part of my life!

I am a dog person, but they must be big dogs. Right now we have 3 german shepherds. I would have more if it wasn't for the fact it already costs us a small fortune to kennel the 3 we got when we go out of town. We also have a cat, but I could really do without her. She will live forever just to torture me.

I have 1 of each....love them both for different reasons.

I always hated cats til I got one and now I think I'd get another kitty before a puppy. MUCH easier to potty train!!! LOL!

It's gotta be dogs for me. We just adopted a rescue dog about a month ago after not having had one for about a year and half.

I'm allergic to cats, and grateful for it. It's given me the perfect excuse to ban them from the house.

I've always considered myself a cat person, but I got a dog a year and a half ago and totally fell in love. He's gone right now (a whole other story) and I am going crazy without him. I don't think I could handle not having any pets!

I like both, but there are rabbits to consider.
Rabbits, contrary to popular believe are brimming with personality and charm.

CATS! I have almost always had a cat or two in my life. Right now we have two kitties, both black and white, that look quite a lot alike. Jack is 17 - 19 pounds and Bitsy (named so because she looked so tiny next to Jack when we got her as a kitten) is 13. Jack is the funniest cat I have ever known. He plays fetch and plays in the water just like a dog.
Someday I would like to get a dog, but haven't found just the right one yet. Last fall we had a wonderful boxer/shepard mix. but the was two young and rambuctious, and too big. He wanted to play with the cats and they didn't think it was such a good idea. Having a 70 pound dog chase cats indoors is NOT a good idea. My 21 year old nephew came to visit and fell in love with him so now he is spoiled rotten living with 3 single men that use him as a "chick magnet".lol

I wouldn't be without my cats. At present we have 3 living with us, 2 permanent and 1 lodger. I have to say DD would love a dog but we can't unless we win the lottery and get a place with a garden then she can have a small dog....a very small dog!

Doggy Heaven

Wow!! This is exciting! I have been worried that my crew might be an impediment to foster/adopt - but it sounds like 'once and adopter, always an adopter' syndrome

I began adopting dogs the minute I graduated college....currently I have Tasha (my lovely, incontinent Doberman), Chloe (my sweet, cuddly and hyper terrier mix) and Teddy (my gentle giant of a retriever mix that, unfortunately, keeps the yard clear of wildlife by killing anything furry that enters.....made for some ackward moments with irate neighbors looking for their cats until they learned to keep them out of my yard....though my parents have asked to borrow him to clear up their opossum problem - his kill list is up to 7 in my yard!)

My staff wonders if I have dog pheremones.....I figure Texas just has the friendliest strays! Out of all the states I have lived in, this is the first where stray dogs will simply jump in my car when I pause on the street for them LOL! I have shown up at work with SIX strays so far. I am happy to report they have all found homes - just NOT at my house!!
