Looking to adopt in the future.

Me and my Fiancee are getting married in October of 09 and we are wondering when is the soonest we can start our classes for Fost/Adopt? I would really like to start off with a younger child so I can get the whole parenting experience, so is there anything I can do to ensure I get a younger child?

Any help or resources anyone can let me know of is greatly appreciated.
