Kinder issues
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the Schools, not cooperating. I have a boy who is in kinder & every other day I am getting complaints on his behaviour. I am trying hard to work w/him but I work & am not there 8 hours of his day.
I have him starting counseling in 1 week but he seems to not even care he is 5 yrs old he gets upset when I bring it to his attention but does not change his behaviour. I am at my wits end, I give him consequences, he has not been allowed to watch tv, now this weekend I tld him he cant go to a Bday party. Any suggestions? I know his teacher seems to have very little patience, says he is disprupting her class & he is taking too much time away from the other children. Any suggestions? Rose |

Kinder assessment
Rose--It is important to not generalize too soon about a kinder. Have you taken kinder to Dr's for check up? Specifically list home behaviors and school behaviors. Contact placement worker for behavior resources--may ultimately need a combination of medication and specific behavior interventions. Assure kinder of love and acceptance. Locate respite care for kinder when needed. Take care of yourself, too. Strengthen your support network, find professional "ear" for you too. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
