Foster Care Month
Did anyone celebrate Foster Care Month in their community? In Maricopa County, Arizona, the Association for Foster & Adoptive Parents (www.azafap.org) participated in a Blue Ribbon Campaign. We tied 8363 blue ribbons (1 for each child in care in AZ) to trees around a park at the State Capitol. 325 volunteers including the Director of DES helped tie the ribbons. The next morning, there was a press conference in which the Governor, DES Director, a former foster child, CPS case manager and foster parents spoke to the need of more foster parents.
