Hi, new here

We are fosterparents in La Paz county and are licensed through Arizona Childrens.
My husband and I are in our 30's and have 6 kids under 10 one of which is our 2 mo old fosterbaby.
We have been doing this for about 3 years now. My mom has been a fosterparent for about 10yrs and has adopted 5 special needs kids over the years. My first adopted brother(spina bifida) was 4 when he joined the family and in Sept 08 he passed away from Sepsis at age 13. It has been very hard on our family but we know he is happy and healthy in heaven.
Well, I just wanted to introduce my self and say hi!

Hello me and my husband are from Peoria and in the process of adopting from foster care. We were foster parents in California from 2001-2004 and we still have contact and visit at least once a year. Now we are ready for our own special family!! VERY EXCITED

Wink this site is pretty slow are their others out their?

Hello everyone. Getting my license was licensed a little over a year ago but put it on hold due to work issues. Then economy hit and my agency decided not go with me again since I put it on hold.

Now I am renewing my license again with an other agency. Work might still be an issue but I can't change it yet since the economy is bad and 6 more months then I will vested so I will not lose my matched 401K.

What has anyone seen in the both the Arizona and everywhere else foster care system with this new economy. Have heard so many different things that I would love to hear it from the real people in the system.

Hopefully, some one does look at this site still. What other sites are people on?

Hello CadyWill - So glad to see someone respond to this Arizona Board! So what part of Arizona are you from? I am from Yuma and we adopted a 6 year old boy in April of this year . We are currently fostering a 12 month old girl (princess) and a 3 month old boy (scout). Would love to hear about your situation!!

I'm from Litchfield Park about 15 miles west of the phoenix airport. We currently had two cute little boys siblings. They are 14 and 24 months. I have had them about 6 months we go to court at the end of the month. It has not been a normal foster placement. I received a phone call back in March asking if I would take in a Teen mom and two of her kiddos. I agreeed come to find out the boys were not wards yet so it made things very hard in the begining. No insurance no payments no services ect... Anyways Teen mom stayed until her 18th birthday and left. She has not been following the court orders and has been missing visits not sure how court will turn out this month. I'll have to keep you posted. That a small glimps into my foster placement this time around.

Wow that's crazy that they asked you to take in her other two kids but failed to tell you that they would not be giving you any benefits to help with the expense of taking them in

We go to court Sept 17th and hopefully the parents rights will be severed for our little girl! Its such a crazy waiting game ugh

Good Luck on your court date!!! The boys are doing so well now. I have pour my time, heart and energy into them. They were so developmently behind in everything that they each has 6 hours of therpy a week. I never could have imagined how much work this would be with kids that were not wards. Hoping for the best next Monday.

Good Luck to you on Monday... I will definately be praying for you

Now that mom has disappeared, did the state make the kids a ward of the state? And are you guys hoping to adopt them? Sorry so many questions.

Alicia

They made them wards a few months ago after pushing them to help me. We were not planning on adopting them. I have not done much research on adoption do you still get help from the state or once you adopt them thats over. DDD services, insurance ect...
