Hey guys. So I am waiting still for an email response from the preditor site on the 64 year book. Hope he replies. I'll wait through this week and then try again.
And as you can see the super moderators change my title from East to West. I felt like such a bonehead about that!! Ahhhh, the silly little mistakes. If it weren't for you, I'd still be looking for East so thanks a ton for checking that out for me!!

I am so bummed out ladies.
The guy that runs the preditor site is the same guy who I had contacted a few months ago on ebay. Even after explaining why I wanted a year book (it was the wrong one I now know) he would not help. All I asked was if he could check the index to see if Dottye Robertson was in it. Didn't want to spend $60 plus dollers to get the wrong book. Had explained everything to him and he said, sorry, I don't have the time to do that for you.
So I got an email back from the guy who runs preditor and he said "Have you asked me to check a year book before as this name looks familier." I emailed back "Only if you are the same person selling on ebay too". Then I went and checked and yes it is the same person.
Maybe he will change his mind and check it for me this time. I will try not to be too bummed out until I get another email from him.
Not sure where else to look. This is really sucky luck!

Hmmm... but surely someone from the website will help you... keep at it... and ask people if they contact info for Julia Watson c/o 65 co-ordinator. They are having a reunion this year and surely someone will have known your mom. If all else fails hon... just say that your mom passed away and was in the class of 65 and you would like to speak to the reunion co-ordinator to see if you could maybe look at someone's yearbooks at the reunion.... or get an invite on your mom's behalf. I think that is your key... I am sure many at that reunion knew your mom....

Update as of last night........
I sent emails to 6 people on the West High 1965 reunion list off their web site given to me by the great numbr1dbcksfan!
I got a response from one of the ladies last night. She has a yearbook and found 3 photos of Ruby in there and remembered Ruby from her class. She's going to do more digging as she has friends still from classes before and after her. I told her stories of Ruby are fine (Dottyes sister) but my most interest was for stories and photos of Dottye.
So, that doesn't put a yearbook in my hand but may lead to more info. I know someday I will find out what book she is in for sure and then be able to buy one!!

YAY!!! That is getting somewhere!!!! Could she put you in contact with Ruby?? Or are you already in contact???

We are kind of in contact. Spoke to her on the phone 3 way once. Other wise it is just short little letters to say hi. She does not talk about anything from the past, it is too painful for her I think. And all I have for her is a po box but at this point I am ok with that.
She sent me a christmas card with a photo of her and her grandaughter in it and then wrote a card later saying she'd send christmas photos. So that is pretty big for her. If I can get all my info from other people I see no reason to hurt her by asking "past" questions. Maybe I will meet her someday. She kind of lives her life in a bubble!
The gal that told me she will try to help is supposed to get back with me later in the week. So exciting when things even look like they are going to work out you know!!

Hey Joan! You're a busy bee today!!
Actually through the classmates emails I found that so far she is not in any of the yearbooks. So people with different books continue to look for me. I've made several new buddies through all those emails! Not a ton of memories of mom but memories of the times. So it's been nice.
But thanks for the idea. I do know of one guy who sells them on Ebay should I find that she is in one I'll go there!!

Hi, Thanks for letting me know. I am glad you are finding out about the times, and making new friends.

Btw, the libr has certain year books. Keep track which years were checked. So if we get down there, we will see what years are there, and which years, we might be able to check for you too. Can't promise they are all there.

Thanks Joan. As it turns out,it sounds like the only year she was there was her freshman year which would have been 1962. At least that is what I have gathered so far!
I may ask you to check next time you go,if you have an extra few minutes. I'd trust you too look all the way through,where the people I don't really know may have just flipped through the book. And maybe even if her school photo wasn't in there, maybe there was an extra shot with her in it or something. I know one person did see an extra shot of Ruby in the cafatera but then there wasn't a school photo of Ruby.
It just all gets stranger and stranger!!
