Hi there! I am an adoptee born 6/2/72. I have found my birth mother who passed away in 1973. I have an older half sister who was not placed for adoption and has been a wealth of information! We are looking for a birth brother OR sister who would have been born in Arizona in 1963 OR 1964. We don't have a ton of information since our birth mother is deceased but we know you are out there and would love to give you any information that we have!
She was very young when she had you.

I have a brother who was born in Phoenix in 1964. I don't know if this could be any relation. We don't have any names or info other than what our parents are told at adoption.

I thought I would reply to your post; even though some of your information differs in what I'm looking for. But you never know. Sometimes, in a quest such as we're all on; you may get information that is not the right information. In the past, I've encountered people who were totally against my searching, and would not help.
I'm a female - born in Tucson, AZ on Feb. 7, 1964. My birth mother's maiden name was Montgomery. Although, she did marry in 1965 to a "Robertson." I've learned that she had another child in 65' (a boy). After that - I have no clue. I was told that she was from the Phoenix area, and that her mother sent her down to Tucson to stay in a "private" home for expecting unwed mothers.
I also know that my birth father's last name is "Smith." (That's an easy one to find).
If any of my info. sounds familiar to you, let me know. And if not - maybe we can still help each other out.

Actually, I found my other sibling last week. And my birth mothers maiden name was Robertson, birth name was Owens, married a Crittenden and then a MOore!

There are several things you can do if you need to get more information on your birth. Do you know what home it was (or was that just the home your brother was born in?) Have you gotten your non identifying information from the courts?
Have you registered with ISRR?
Have you looked or registered findme.org?

Make sure you keep a little book with all of the web sites you register at to make sure you go back and check them.

What else..........Don't loose hope. It's a tough and sometimes long road but you can find them!
Why am I reconizing the last name Montgomery? Are you on the Arizona search and support group?

WOW - thanks for the quick reply; and CONGRATULATIONS on finding your other sibling. Hope all went well.
The "home" I was referring to was a "private" residence that took in unwed expecting mothers. My birth mother stayed with this individual (along with a couple of other expecting young mothers) until she had me; afterwhich I was relinquished to the Arizona Children's Home. As far as my half, biological brother - I have no idea what happened with him. About 20 yrs. ago - I actually spoke to the woman that my mother stayed with in Tucson; and she was the one that told me about the 1/2 brother, and that my mother married not long after she had me, and then became pregnant again. Other than that, she didn't have much more info.
Yes, I've got non-identifying info., plus I've also got my whole adoption file and sealed birth certificate. You'd think with all that, that I would have gotten somewhere by now. When I started searching (~25 yrs. ago) I was really gung-ho; but after hitting wall after wall, it has only been something that I dabble in every now and again. (For sanity purposes).
I was registered with ISRR a number of years ago; but I'm not sure if I'm still "on file." I'll do that again. I'll also register at that "findme.org" - thanks for the tip. And no, I'm not in the Arizona Search & Support Group - yet.... It's really amazing to me, all the new avenues and support groups that have emerged recently. When I started all of this; there really wasn't that much out there.

Well... just in case you didnt already know... recorded document and court cases are public record and are located at maricopa.gov... perhaps you can find something on your brother there...

The only other thing I can think of now is a Yahoo group caleed : Arizona search support. I am no longer a member of it but they had a large data base of people searching as well as people who can help to point you in the right direction.
I know about long searches!! I would always search more activly around my Birthday.
