I was born in Arizona in July of 1973. My adoption records have been lost since then and the attorney at the time has not been able to find any file on my adoption either. So needless to say I dont have any information on my birth. I now have a child myself and would love to know any kind of medical information that I could pass on to my family. I would also love to tell my birthparents "thank you for giving me the opportunity to live life". Having to give up their baby must have been the hardest thing they have ever done.
If anyone has any information on me, please PLEASE reply, even it the information may seen pointless, it may help me.

AZ has a Confidential Intermediary program....it seems to me that even if the attorney lost his file, the court records surely would still exist....you may try going that route! Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for your reply. Do you know how or who i would talk to to sign up for that program? I know that I signed up for one a LONG time ago but Ive since moved MANY times and I dont even remember what the program I had signed up for was called.

I just went to the site and it says that it only applies to people whos adoptions were finalized in Arizona. Unfortunately my adoption was finalized in California. Thats the confusing part, I never know if I should be searching in AZ or CA.

Let's Clarify....if you were born in AZ and adopted from AZ, then that is where you would search even if the adoption is interstate. My birthdaughter was born here and lives in NJ....AZ holds all the information.....

If you were born in AZ...then moved to CA where your mother relinquished....AZ would hold your records but would need a court order from CA to open them.

If you were born somewhere else then moved to AZ and that is where you you were relinquished, then you would need a court order from AZ to open the records in the state of birth.

State of birth holds the records as that is where the BC is housed.


So if you were born in AZ (have an AZ Birth Cert) and that is where your birthmother relinquished, then AZ is the state to deal with!

I would love to give you some more info on my adoption, I just get kind of sketchy about posting them on a public forum. Is it cool if I email you?
Theres not much more to it, Ive just read some warning about what to post and what not to post for the public to see. I read a post on here where a woman was completely deceived by someone obviously out just to hurt people.

I really want to start out by thanking everyone with their support in finding my birthmom, you were all great =)
The update is.....SHE FOUND ME! She found me through THIS site! I got the surprise call at 6:30am on January 24th. So yes, it was awhile ago that this happened but it taken me awhile to actually come back here and update.
My ** and I have met 2 times now and it has been AMAZING! She is such a beautiful and wonderful woman. We both decided that this isnt "closure" but actually a beginning to something special!
