Smile your post

Hi,
I hope you have had the opportunity to fill out the post adoption registry forms and send them in.
If you haven't, download the forms pertaining to you
http://www.child.gov.ab.ca/whatwedo/...0for%20Reunion

In the very least, you should receive some "non-identifying" information about your birthmother.
Second, you might be able to obtain your birthname as well.

Also, a good place to register with on the internet is
http://www.canadianadopteesregistry.org
They are closed over the holidays however, be sure to register with them in January.

Good luck in your search!
~Shannon

Thanks Shannon!

Yes, I have definitely done that!

Waiting for a name as we speak.... I'm not sure what the turnaround time is, but I'm guessing I might have to wait until after the holiday season.

Are you searching as well?

I haven't received it yet Shannon... I don't know why it is taking so long! I asked and they said six weeks, and it has been longer than that. My patience is wearing thin! Do you think I should call them again?

just a little longer

How much longer than six weeks has it been? Basically one must consider that the two weeks over Christmas doesn't count as part of the six weeks, so if you sent it in just before Xmas, I would expect you should hear from them by the end of February.
My husbands was exactly two months from the day we mailed it in.

Hi Shannon,
In a week it will be two months from the mail in date, so hopefully it will be coming around that time like your husbands.

Is you husband trying to find his birthmother with his information? Or is he just curious? I'm sitting on the fence right now.

I just got my info!!!!

My last name was Broddy... it was amazing reading the info, I sound just like my mother. Wow

My dad was an adoptee, too. It's amazing how many people who's lives are touched by adoption.

My mom was registered!!!! OMG, now I have to wait 8 weeks they say... I hope she hasn't changed her mind.
