Hi Marcia,
If you haven't done so already, please register yourself with the Alberta Post Adoption Registry office to receive non-identifying information about your brother and as well to register yourself there in the case if he registered himself there, they would reunite you

Under "Birthsibling"
You might try requesting his birthdate as well, although they may just give you the year.

Francis is his middle name. I still haven't found out what his last name was. My mom said she will tell me when we get together on Friday.
( The birthfather may not be my birthfather.)

If David was born to your mother, which I am only assuming that he was, his last name at birth would be whatever her surname was at the time.

It is very rare in Alberta - or elsewhere possibly, that a child born to an unwed mother be born with the father's surname, so rare in fact ....I haven't heard of it yet and have been helping adoptees in their searches for a few years now.

Hi Shannon,

The thing is, that... I'm not sure if my mom had the baby before she married my dad or after.
I was 3 years old when my parents married. My brother Michael was 1 1/2. She had the baby either just before or shortly after she married my dad.
I will not know until the weekend.
The way my mom is talking is that "David" is not my dad.

(I can't wait to find out!)
