March 13, 1964 Baby boy wants to find birthfamily

A dear friend of mine asked me to post his information on our boards as he is looking for his birthfamily, especially to see if he has any siblings. He has no birthnames, only he was born March 13, 1964 and the hospital he was born at. Does this ring a bell for anyone? If so feel free to pm me! He's a wonderful person I hope we can help him!

Hi,
The first thing that your friend needs to do is to apply in the Province in which he was born,
or the Province he was adopted
(if he was adopted into a different province from that in which he was born)

for what is called his non-identifying information....and to also register with the Post Adoption Registry at the same time, in the case if his birthfamily is registered there too....they will match them up.

This document may or may not supply his birthname, if he was born in Alberta, it would as in Alberta one is entitled to receive their birthname.

Here is the link for the forms in Alberta
http://www.child.gov.ab.ca/whatwedo/...0for%20Reunion

download the forms, complete and attach copies of i.d. and mail them in.

It will take 6-8 weeks to receive an answer.

Hope this helps,
~Shannon

Talking FOUND! BMOM!!!

Today after a phone call from the Alberta Adoptees Search & Reunion Registry.. my friend's birthmom has been found and contacted and the two spoke today! His long standing questions are finally being answered! It went pretty well. We are so excited for him!

What a heck of a start for the New Year! The upside is he has a half brother who was born in 1969 that was adopted out. We need to get more information but will post ASAP.

Thanks all for the time of reading this post!

Sorry I had the name wrong Shannon. But it's corrected now! =)

Thumbs up Isn't it wonderful~

Hi,
I will confirm, for those who read it,
that it was
Wendy of Alberta Adoptees Search & Reunion Registry

(NOT affiliated with the Alberta Government in any way, shape or form)

that contacted your friends birthmother.
Wendy and I run
http://www.albertaadopteesregistry.com
on a volunteer basis, helping people like your friend !
find their birthfamilies. Although we cannot guarantee any results, we do try our hardest!!!

It's wonderful news for him....now he needs to register with the Government to find information about his birthbrother.....
Adoptees are harder to find than birthmothers, but it's not impossible.

Talking

I talked with him last night for awhile. He was totally happy to have so many questions answered and more to come on the way they are planning a reunion soon. I can't wait to hear what happens next. Thanks Shannon and Wendy for all of your help. As soon as I know more on his brother I will post and get him to register with gov. Hugs to you both!
