just to let you know

They have just passed bill 24, meaning they now have open records for adoptee's and natural families. If you could let me know a little more about who you are searching for, from what I read you are looking for your sisters mothers brother? or are you looking for your sister. mother and brother? I do know the area and I also know that being firstnations the are FULLY open and will help you locate who you are looking for, let me know if you need more information

I have just read your profile, silly me I guess I should have done that before replying, I see that you are the adoptee?
here is some valuable information

This is the post adoption registry. The bill was just passed so I am not sure if it is active yet, I will find out for you.

stepahni - is this the right spelling, I just did a quick search and could find nothing under that surname

NEW BILL

The new bill for Alberta won't go into effect until "Fall of 2004"
which could be by the end of the year since formally the end of fall is in the middle or so of December.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the new amendment would help siblings, it is a matter of opening the file between birthparents and adoptees
here's the link

http://www.child.gov.ab.ca/whatwedo/...75%20sheet.pdf
or catch it off of this link
http://www.child.gov.ab.ca/whatwedo/...e.cfm?pg=index
under "new legislation"

Make sure you apply to the Post Adoption registry for non-identifying information regarding each of your siblings
and put your name in their passive registry as well.
Good luck~
Shannon
