Julie Randolph . . . may I ask
a question? After perusing the boards, I noticed that you mentioned working with PACT. I do not know if I am welcome here, as we are not an African American family. I am Caucasian; my husband is Asian, and our beautiful daughter is African American. We have joined PACT but wondered about their seminars and camps for families. Have you attended any of these events? Would you recommend them? Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi. This forum was started specifically for African American adoptive parents to bring up issues/information that are pertinent to our experiences in adoption. Anyone is welcome to read along, post and participate, but this forum was designed for discussing issues other than transracial adoption -- there are other forums for that!
As for Pact events, yes I have attended and helped to put on Pact workshops and conferences here in the California Bay Area. I can certainly recommend them. The Transracial Adoption Summit this summer got rave reviews! If you have questions about particular events you're interested in, please feel free to send me an email, and I'll be glad to get you info.
