So Sydney is almost three months and her hair is very soft with loose ringlet curls. However, as her hair dries it gets messy looking so I'm looking for products that will work with her hair.

I think that products with too much oil would be overkill for her texture, but normal baby shampoo isn't working either. So, I was thinking that this mixed chicks hair product might be happy medium. Has anyone tried it?

Three months old is too young for product. The most I would put on her hair is baby lotion.

With Mixed Chicks you need to be careful which product you use because some of them have ingredients you wouldn't want to put on a child.

Blended Beauty is a better product line IMO. I used to use it before I switched to something I could pick up in my local store. Mail order gets to be really old.

Carol's Daughter is good. I've never used it but I know a number of people who have and love it.

I've gone organic and basically chemical free in my hair products. So no sulfates, silicones, parabens or petroleum, mineral oil or alcohol in any product.

We use Carol's Daughter, but the prices are killing us. Especially now that they never have the Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner in Sephora, and you have to order it online most of the time. Blended Beauty also costs a pretty penny (never used it, though).

I can't really recall if we used anything for our daughter's hair back when she was 3 months old, but I doubt it. Maybe try to wet it each time before combing it out? We did (now I remember!) use water in a spray bottle, with a little bit of Burt's Bees Apricot Oil added, and would spritz the hair in the mornings.

Some folks use a little olive oil mixed with water. You may have to use a little essential oil to change the smell. I can't give you the ratio of oil to water because people adjust it to the texture of the hair they are working with...

We used to use Miss Jessie's but it got too expensive and I didn't like all the chemicals in it.

I'm really funny about scents. All of Blended Beauty products smelled like a mild cocoa butter. It was alright but not a big wow. DD liked the smell.

DevaCurl is an excellent line. I love the No Poo shampoo. The mint makes it tingly and stimulates growth. I did use this on DD when she was old enough. I Love...love the DevaCurl Set it Free. Smells great and removes frizz, moisturizes and defines curls.

Jane Carter Solution is good. Loved the leave in conditioner. Used this on DD as well.

Oyin Handmade is a good product line. Haven't used it but friends gave it good reviews especially the Juices and Berries. Juices and Berries is a vegetable based oil free moisturizer.

Wen by Chaz Dean. Sulfate free conditioning cleanser... I've heard good things about it.

DD and I are using Kinky Curly products. The whole line smells great and free of the bad stuff. The Spiral Spritz is good for looser curls or general moisturizing.

Johnson and Johnson makes a green colored shampoo for babies with curly hair. We use it on our 2 y.o. Joshie and it is great!

Then we use a gel called Max Curls to just moisten the tips of his hair.

I do like the Kinky Curly products thus far. I use that product on my hair. I am not big on using a lot of products in my young babies hair. Go with the least amount of chemicals/ingredients, if possible natural or organic based. Some are already listed in the previous posts , such as the olive oil/apricot oil h20 mix. Be careful if you have hard tap water that can be very drying.
