 Same here...AA couple looking to adopt AA or biracial newborn girl. Does anyone know much about how foster/adopt works in North Carolina?

02/08: decided to adopt- researching which avenue to pursue!! 4/08: application submitted with agency  6/25/08 - officially waiting 6/28/08 - Matched!! 6/28/08 - it's a girl!! She's born!!  6/29/08- We meet the most beautiful baby girl in the world & the amazing mother that gave birth to her!! 7/9 - ICPC has cleared - we can go home!! 2/17/09- Finalized!!! After dealing with infertility, IVF & a miscarriage I finally realize what God had in store for us! What a joyful time to be alive!

 12/20 received a  call - want to adopt baby due in Jan1/2 baby is here 1/13 baby still in hospital - not doing well  1/20 just waiting 1/26 baby is better - be out of hospital soon  2/8 baby is getting better everyday - will be in hospital for a few more weeks 3/5 baby is out of hospital and they have decided to parent

Can you share that info with me too? I fostered for 3 years with the hope of being able to adopt. It didn't happen for us, we had a little girl in our care for 22 months and fell in love with her, but she was reunified. Our hearts were broken, and we've opted to give our our foster care license and pursue adoption. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Mr. Cris, married to a wonderful woman. 10/20/08- Orientation about Foster care and Adoption 11/1/08- Started MAPP Classes 12/20/08- Finger Printed 1/31/09- Received MAPP Certificate of completion 1/31/09- Submitted all paperwork for Background check 3/17/09- Received background check clearance 3/24/09- Completed home study  5/8/09- Inquired about 5 year old  "A" from Photolisting5/27/09-Home study officially approved  5/28/09- Home study submitted for staffing meeting of 5 year old "A"6/15/09- Informed "A" will be staying with his Foster family 6/26/09- Found out home not yet "officially" open due to paperwork mistake  6/29/09- Home Officially opened and on "THE LIST" 8/13/09- Received license in the mail  Currently waiting  and hoping the rings and we are matched with an infant/toddler.Child preference: or  from newborn to 5 years old any race.
