Question Profile Pictures

The profile is written. The only thing left are the pictures. My goal is to select pictures that characterize, honestly, who we are. But I keep finding things wrong with the picture. I have this really great picture of me but my bra strap is showing. I have a really good picture of my husband with our dogs but it's a bit blurry. Any suggestions on selecting the 'right' ones?

Do you have a photo editing program on your computer that could take out the bra strap?

You could also use 'Paint' on your computer and put a caption over the area.

If you want, PM me and I can try and help.

I used a picture of my from a friends wedding, and the clear bra straps were obvious...I didn't have any problems.

I dont know how to use most graphics programs, but I can try and do something to help!

I agree with Msdizzy... Take the bra straps out with a photo editing program. As far as a blurry picture is concerned don't use it. There are other photos that can have the same effect. If you like traveling or sporting events use those pictures. Sometimes it's very important to show a variety of pictures when you are AA because there is the misconception that we are all living on the low end of the socioeconomic scale.
On the other hand... you might be matched before you finish your profile or before it's sent out.

Good Luck!

I agree with the others. I used travel pics, and a lot of pictures of dh and I as a couple, a couple of the kids, and then the extended family. We have a dog too, and incorporated that the good old family dog. I used some scrap pieces to add some interest, and they do cover some not too perfect spots, lol. Not too sure what your agency's criteria is, but I incorporated the pictures with the written part of the profile, to make it easier on the eyes. Make sure that you keep your original at hand. As you said be yourself, and it will shine through the pictures. Best wishes, let us know how things work out.

I spent days agonizing over the perfect pictures. And you know what? My dd's bmom's favorite picture was the one I thought was the worst. You just never know! I included a bunch of my favorites, a few of us just doing every day activities, and we also spent a few days taking more pictures since it took us doing our profile to realize that I take all the photos in our family - which means that I really don't appear in them very often. Anyways, I am sure that no matter what pictures you choose, someone will see your true personality shine through them!

We selected a variety of photos as well, and included family in the photos as well. We had vacation photos, photos of our house, photos of the nursery, DH and I in our younger years, etc. We wanted to make sure that the photos selected showed who we were.
I agree that you should edit the bra strap photo and don't use the blurry one. But I also honestly wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about whether or not the pictures are just perfect. As long as they are clear and show the "real" you. Good Luck!

Don't Wanna Intimidate

All of our pictures are of us on vacation. We tried to hold a 'photo' shoot but it didn't go well. Our agency has a standard profile that only allows for 6 pictures. We're going to a photo editing place to see what they can do for us with the editing. I don't want to intimidate a potential birthmom with all the shots of the Grand Canyon and whatnot.

To mix thing up a bit, take a couple of pictures now and get them developed, just random shots of you and your family and friend. I am sure the expectant/mom(parents) would like to see who your support systems are too.

Good Luck with whatever pictures you choose. And I agree, the birthmom would probably love to see all of the family members and friends who will be your strength and support over the coming years of this child's life.

Can you crop the pictures down so that you are not showing the scenery but more of yourselves?

Profile App Is In

We made the selections. They look good. We look all happy and everything. We even put in a picture of our family, including my mother in law. I was just noticing how we're outside in all our pictures and we both wear glasses so its hard to see our eyes. But I've decided that I need to probably let that go so we can get it done.
