I was combing through some of the older posts and it was encouraging to see other African American parents adopting. The moderator for this forum used to be an AA woman who worked with PACT, Julie Randolph. Is she still around?

It was also encouraging yet discouraging to see that the older posts dealt with some of the same issues that we are talking about now. Some of the AA parents got together weekly for a chat session which I thought was pretty cool.

Ohhhh Julllieeeeee? Well, that was 3 years ago I wonder how many AA adoptive/waiting parents we have??

I joined last year in the early spring, and missed a lot of those discussions, but it is not surprising to see that the same topics are mulled over and over again with new folks.
I heard good things, and read some great food for thought about/on PACT. I am on the east coast. We were recently waiting until this past Spring, when we were matched. After a transitional period, our now 21 month-old baby girl was placed in our home, in June.

I've been on the forums since 2004 and don't remember Julie Randolph. We still do chats just not on a regular basis. Some of the old posters who were really active are still out there... Maybe we can round up the cast of characters so we can chat and the old folks can meet the new ones.

If you are interested we can set something up. All we need to do is send up the bat signal and they will come. LOL...

Stillamomma - I think I sat next to you on the day that you attended your first Harambee mtg?? My foster son was not with me that day.
