A few questions?

What state are you looking to adopt in?
Are you looking to foster to adopt?

If you are interested in adopting through the state, you can start buy contact your local office for children services. You can also go to www.adoptuskids.com and look at there photolistings a children who are legally free for adoption (parental rights have been terminated), the website also has links and contact info for foster care agencies around the country.

You could always adopt from Haiti. I realize I am a little biased but the kids there really need to find homes. If you want to know more please pm me.

Our state Alabama no longer accepting applications for adoptions under 8 years of age.. We have went through the 10hr class finished all paper .. and at the end the Director told us... so here we our but yes we did try that route first... and it really hurted for we knew we would have our little one soon...after finishing all the state process..

Also if you have went thru the foster care classes and licensing you should be able to take placements from other states. try www.adoptuskids.org There are many children that need families. I am sure you will be able to find the path that is right for your famliy.

I have to agree with Monami. We just returned from Haiti with our toddler son. We received his referral in April of 2005, and even though the upheaval at election time held up an already long process, he's here now, thank God. There were a number of infant/toddler/young boys and girls at our creche (orphanage) waiting for a Manmi et Papi. There was a set of twin baby boys, too. Haiti awaits. There are a number of agencies here in the U.S. that work with Haiti. Blessings on your journey.
