Dry Skin

Merry Christmas,

My son, Jory's skin has recently starting soaking up Johnson & Johnson's lotion like there is no tomorrow. Is there anything I can use that is safe for babies and has enough oil for his skin? I know there is vaseline but I only use that as a last resort on a constant basis.

Thanks,

Yash

I am a big fan of Aveeno's lotion. The regular kind is fine for babies. I use it on my baby to get rid of the rash he gets on his cheeks from scratching himself.
He is 9 days old.

We use Cetaphil on Gavin's dry patches.

Cetaphil works for us. The stuff in the tub, not the pump stuff. I use it as well as both my kids & my dermatologist said it is what he recommends the highest for dry skin.

We just started using Cetaphil. Before our pediatrician recommended Cetaphil we were occasionally using Lubriderm Shea and Cocoa butter lotion. My little boy is 8 months old today and Johnson’s baby lotion stopped working for him a couple of months ago.

Aquafor

Our pediatrician recommended Eucerin or Aquafor for ds when he was an infant. The Eucerin just wasn't rich enough so we changed to Aquafor and it worked wonderfully. I think Eucerin makes Aquafor.

We used Cetaphil and Aquafor on dd from day 1 (and still use it today)...it worked great for her. Cetaphil we use on a daily basis and if I see a really dry patch on her then I will apply some Aquafor to that area.

Good luck - ld

I usually use Shea butter of Aveeno but when Hannah had some really bad dry skin because of a cold (her cheeks were horribly dry) I used Aquafor (phor?) and it works really great, really moistened her skin back up. I dont' use it regularly, just as needed.
