Hello! I am not new to this forum, just been a long time since I've posted and I had to register a new name since I forgot my other one and password!

My husband and I have been trying for nearly a year to adopt our final baby, preferably full African American. Due to a recent birthmother scam that took nearly $5500 of our already limited funds after a 5 month match, we only have about $8500 left.

Does anyone know of any adoptions that can be completed for under $10,000? I have a few emails out to various attorneys and agencies, but with the holidays, I think people are slower at responding than usual.

If there is anyone that can help, it would be much appreciated! Thanks so much in advance! -Susan

You know....I think I'm keeping up with it though.........
Someone pm'ed me and said they had emailed me, but I hadn't replied. I seldom check that email address.....so to anyone who has done it that way, remember to pm me. I check this forum daily.
And no, I really don't mind. This is the purpose of the list, and if it can just keep one couple from losing money, from dealing with a nasty agency or attorney (I don't recommend facilitators...illegal in IL, though I know some 'get around that'....)......then I'll feel good about it all!
There's just too much 'business' garbage about adoption anymore, and it's become a basic catch all for those who are looking to make money from adoptive couples. (woo-HOO? Can't you just HEAR those negative feedback marks FLYIN' NOW?????)
